Tough Simon (3 of 5)

Who knew Simon had his septum pierced? Not I. But man was that badass.

He stood next to a corrugated metal wall, with a dark grey painted wall behind him. I put the Speedlite/umbrella combo, on a stand, pointing at the wall, and he stood in between.

That setup gave us a dramatic shadow, but a lot of strangely omnidirectional fill light. Then he made faces.

After awhile, we even tried some stuff with colored gels! The green is from a gel; the skin tone in the shadow areas is just the overhead light sneaking in. This was one of those times when I wished I had more lights. C’est la vie.

These were all so fun!
